I place him either in a stroller or carrier and we set out for the day. I love to watch his face see everything for the first time. And apparently, so does everyone else. I mean, people are stopping in the street to tell me how cute babies are, tell me about the babies in their lives, tell me about their own kids at that age, tell me about how I should deal with his skin and the sun, tell me how much outside time he should be getting, tell me about the various bacteria flying around, tell me about possible allergies he might get, even tell me if he's properly dressed for the weather.
I have a wonderful 8 year old dog who is very curious and friendly and in the past three months of excursions with my son there has been more eye googling, cooing and touching of this tiny helpless discoverer than petting of my dog by strangers.
Don't get me wrong, I accept the reactions babies can cause to others, but I would like to ask you all, would you come near an attractive adult or even a tiny Chihuahua with such vigor and disregard for personal space.
